Read the story of this tragedy here. It is awful, but has fascinated me for years. It could have been one of my relatives there, I know a number of them worked in sweatshops.
I just watched a great documentary on Hbo about this. It takes a tragedy to make things change. Even today. It seems people won't change unless there is a tragedy.
I'm trying to fit as much ART into my life as possible, squeezing it in around all of my responsibilities. I mainly work in the medium of collage, and fiber art, or some combination. I'm trying to get ready for the second part of my life. That would be the part where I get down-sized and I become less valuable in the work force, and where I try to cobble together a way to make a living that is fun and useful to humanity. Watch me!
